Performance boosts in devices powered by 7th gen Intel® Core™ processors go beyond simply faster response times.
Customers will experience:
Sales associates will have plenty of experience improvements to talk about with shoppers, but there will be lots of technically-oriented consumers who want to know about the technical specs of these new processors.
The 7th gen Intel® Core™ processors are built on 14-nanometer technology. Processors are divided between the Y-series and U-series. The main differences between each series are the single core base frequency and the ability of the U-Series to accept DDR4 RAM.
However, both the Y-series and U-series include Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology (Intel® HT Technology) which enables device designs that achieve the perfect balance between mobility and performance.
Other exciting technologies included are:

4Requires activation and a system with a corporate network connection, an Intel® AMT–enabled chipset, network hardware, and software. For notebooks, Intel AMT may be unavailable or limited over a host OS-based VPN, when connecting wirelessly, on battery power, sleeping, hibernating, or powered off. Results dependent upon hardware, setup, and configuration. For more information, visit Intel® Active Management Technology
5Requires an Intel® Core™ processor, an enabled chipset, Intel® Rapid Storage Technology software, and a properly configured dual drive (HDD + small SSD). Depending on system configuration, your results may vary. Contact your system manufacturer for more information.
6Requires an Intel® HD Audio enabled system. Consult your PC manufacturer for more information. Sound quality will depend on equipment and actual implementation. For more information about Intel HD Audio, refer to Intel® High Definition Audio.
7Intel® Smart Sound Technology (SST) requires the use of an I2S based CODEC for operation. Intel SST cannot be used concurrently with Intel High Definition Audio. Not available on all systems. Consult your PC manufacturer for more information. Sound quality will depend on equipment and actual implementation.
Software and workloads used in performance tests may have been optimized for performance only on Intel microprocessors. Performance tests, such as SYSmark and MobileMark, are measured using specific computer systems, components, software, operations and functions. Any change to any of those factors may cause the results to vary. You should consult other information and performance tests to assist you in fully evaluating your contemplated purchases, including the performance of that product when combined with other products.
